UC Riverside is home to world-class research facilities that bring together researchers on campus from all sectors of health research, leading to ground-breaking discoveries. These facilities are:

Core Instrumentation Facility — Institute for Integrative Genome Biology

The UCR Institute for Integrative Genome Biology is one of the world's leading institutions of genomics research. Its Core Instrumentation Facility is a shared-use resource with instrumentation suites in DNA sequencing and molecular biology, visual microscopy, bioinformatics, and proteomics.

Central Facility for Advanced Microscopy and Microanalysis

This facility serves as a research, service and consulting laboratory for microscopic characterization of organic and inorganic materials, biological tissue and minerals applying electron beam techniques and laser confocal microscopy.

Analytical Chemistry Instrumentation Facility

Housed in the Department of Chemistry, this facility is comprised of four specialized units – mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and optical spectroscopy – and used by a number of researchers.

Insectary and Quarantine Facility

UCR's state-of-the-art Insectary & Quarantine Facility is one of the nation's most advanced university-based laboratories for developing and rearing transgenic insects, studying insect pests (including those of medical interest), evaluating potential natural enemies, and conducting research on disease vectors.

Nanofabrication Facility – Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering

UCR's Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering is one of the world leaders in nanotechnology research focusing on nanomedicine and housing a $3 million nanofabrication facility. This 2,000-square-foot facility includes environmental controls necessary to provide clean areas of Class 1,000 and Class 100 specifications.

University Research Park

The 39-acre University Research Park is a community partnership between the City and County of Riverside and UCR to support technology-based businesses, including those emerging from UCR discoveries.
